Lake of Stars

I like Eggs, They are good.

Malawi is amazing - at least Nkhata bay :)
But alsas it didn't have an internet connection :p

Spent three nights there with other backpackers, (did some rowing, snorkeling, which I'm not sure why I havn't done before! and tried the locla brew [yuck]- met... Brits, Israeies, Germans, Dutchmen, and lots of Malawisna) then hitched a ride down with Ben, who I met at Mayorka VIllage (awesome like side campside/bar) who has been driving from Cape town for about two months- Just arrived in Blantyre last night, and am taking a little break for today, then I'll bus it down to Mozanbique and then to Swaziland.

I'm realizing I'm very pressed for time, and there are far to many things to do in the world, but I'll try for as many as I can.

I finished "Small Gods" which was an amazing read, and I recomend it to anybody who's looking at a alternative view of religion of the self verses teh masses (also read SIlas Marner by George Elliot, which is kinda the same thing but without Prattchets WIt) - and I finnally found a book store in Blantyre (not relaly any since Nairobi)

I'm going back and forth between travel buddies, which is fun, and I don't know who I'll find next on my way to Mozambique, but I think that's the fun part.

Down the lake

Just got to... Supowanga(sp?) about 10 hour from Malawi

the Boat left on... Friday, two days late, so I spent a week in Northern TZ, learning more about the local beer and meeting some UN ppls (and now traveling with other backpackers)

umm... Learning new card games, lots of talking, and not too much internet time

New plan is to go down to Malawi then Mozambique, follow through to Swaziland, SA, Lesotho, then Fly from Cape Town to Paris on October 28th!

then fly back to the US for thanksgiving...

I know this is a really bad post, but I'm on a time limit,

Cheers!

Tan-zed

Crossed the boarder yesterday with a bus full of lovely Burundian ladies who laughed at me every chance they got:) It was quite fun.

now I'm in Kigoma till Wed. as the Boat comes then- I float to Zambia- I'm safe other than an Eye infection which I'm treating

Life is cheep again ($1 for my hotel last night) which makes me happy, and I'm going to search for fishermen to take me out one the lake on my 3 day stop over- barely anyone speaks English, so it'll be fun ! :D

Off

Off the quickest way I can to Malawi-
It's amazing the amount of money you can spend doing nothing, and very frusterating :\

I've spent too much money here and done too little, though I did go to the Genocide mamorial today, it was free, but I finished my book and couldn't find anything less than $20 usd here book wise so looks like I'll be drawing on my hand, Kinda angsty right now, but I'll get over it.

Kigali

Arrived about an hour ago- Quite modern compared to Nairobi (or maybe it's just the lack of trash and the nicer malls being in town instead of on the outskirts)

looking for a place to stay- should be fun :p

After Kampala (spent a night there) I took a 12 hour bus to SW Uganda which is the same geography as the Congo and Rwanda but is cheaper! and still has gorillas (which I didn't see... $$$) but I hiked for two days, took a few motor cycles to the boarder and passed uneventfully into Rwanda, not sure how long I'll be there, a friend invited me to go on a run with her on Monday, but I need to find free lodging first- (Hotels aren't that common and are pricy)

I have tons of pictures (oh and I traveled in a dug out canoe in a Ugandan lake for 3 hours as a thunder storm was approaching- got to see some red monkeys and heard the chimps in the distance) - and am meeting all kinds of people. Will let you know what I have moved on an where too

Goal = Malawi for now everything in between is just on teh side (though I'm trying to avoid the Tanzanian $100 vias- it might not be possible even if I take the Lake Tanganyika route.... as apposed to the DRC.. yeah )
