Life Check
Finished with FInals, so now I get to write, celebrate, and re-organize life (kinda like New years, except I do it every 1/3 of the year)
Fall 10:
Emily moved to DC, I visited her, it's a better town than I hopped for, but it's still too far away (sad face). I miss her, and it kinda sucks being in a long distance relationship where I can see her nightly, but not touch her. Oh and I miss the cooking, the cooking was good.
I failed pretty miserable on my goals of writing and taking daily pictures. I'm pretty sure I worte more today (for myself) than I have in the past two months. I'll be traveling for the next month so I'll make up for it, But I still haven't written as much on my Mexico trip from last year as I would have liked to (sooo.. I will) ..... kinda thinking of bringing a laptop to Puerto Rico with me.... which is dumb. I'll have to write in my journal.
I met a very good friend (well many, but this one is great) Marc Pare' who joe introduced me to as I was working in Henerdonvil, we skyped and he wanted some ideas on a project he was working on. I'm not nearly as talented as him code wise, but it was still fun to work on. When we got back to the Atlanta, we met up for coffee and hit it off right away, to the point where he was inviting me to his project showings and introducing me to professors. I though it was awesome. I invited him to TedxAtlanta where I'm trying to help out in may, and we met some pretty amazing people.
My Couch surfing friends are becoming a larger part of my life, as I'm attempting to help out more. It's still very difficult with my travel schedule- and goals which involve me being not in Atlanta. But I'm planning monthly events, which is pretty awesome, and meeting people for coffee at random, !!
ORGT has gotten turned on it's head. David Knobbe is the new ADOR (leighs old job before she moved to Boston) and he's amazing. He used to work at coke, and has something of a corporate mindset, and it's amazing. He's very people centric and were getting along just great. I've begun my transition out of the ORGT president to alumni, but I'm no the Marketing director of Students for the Challenge corse, where I'm working in strategy, mission development, and marketing. I can't imagin going back to a summer camp after working here... it just seems to simple compared to that. I do need to get my resume out for May though. When I graduate I don't want to be dead in the water for too long.
I met with Debie Gulick who gave me some great advice, and I'm thinking of working more on ORGT's professional development side (inviting Bill Putnam in, seeing if Pacen Kenedy would come back) ORGT has so many people to use as resources- and I'm going to do it (kinda like a statesmen)
